1. Accident & Emergency

Accident and Emergency Department

The Accident & Emergency Unit at Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur is well-equipped to handle any injury or medical emergency around the clock every day. At the accident and emergency department we have a dedicated team of doctors and nurses who are specially trained for emergency situations and they will evaluate the situation immediately using the triage method. The most severe cases with life-threatening conditions will be our top most priority, while the rest may need a 30-minute wait, depending on the number of patients at the A&E.

In addition to having a team of emergency specialists assessing and managing your case, a multidisciplinary team of specialists and surgeons are also on call to attend to complex medical conditions.

The diagnostic process at the Emergency Department may involve various departments (modalities) such as the clinical laboratory services and imaging services. Once the patient has received the urgent medical intervention, he or she will be warded for management (medical/surgical).

Critical Care Centre

At Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur, we have the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Critical Care Units (CCU) that are specially equipped with and designed for the treatment of patients with sudden, life-threatening conditions. The unit is located on the First floor of the hospital block with 20 beds where patients receive 1-to-1 care from the nursing staff.

Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) contains highly technical and sophisticated monitoring devices and equipment, and is staffed by personnel specially trained and skilled in recognizing and immediately responding to cardiac and other emergencies.

The ICU/CCU is fully equipped with advanced invasive and non-invasive equipment designed to support the highly specialized care that’s essential for the recovery of critical conditions such as Adult and Pediatric Cardiovascular, Neurosurgical, Renal, Trauma, Medical and Surgical cases.

We also have a High Dependency Unit (HDU) located on the First floor for patients who still need close monitoring, observation, treatment and nursing, but not under critical or intensive care.

Diabetes Care Centre

Launched in the year 2002, Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur Diabetes Care Centre empowers those affected by diabetes as well as their caregivers with diabetes self-management support.

Being affected and/or at risk of diabetes can be challenging and changing one's daily routine to include aspects such as healthy eating to exercising, monitoring blood glucose, taking medication and reducing the risk of complications can seem overwhelming.

However, we at Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur are ready to work with you to develop a plan that will help you take charge of your condition and to stay healthy.
