Lotus Group ventured into the leisure and hospitality industry in 2005 with the launch of its first Lotus Family Hotel at Medan Tuanku in Kuala Lumpur, followed by the second Lotus Family Hotel in Jalan Masjid India in 2011. Leveraging on the rising number of tourists, both local and international, Lotus Group launched Lotus Desaru Beach Resort & Spa in 2009. Spread across 47 acres of beachfront in Kota Tinggi, Johor, this 1,255-room Resort which comes with a 4-star rating is easily recognisable with its fairy tale castle exterior. With further development of the Desaru Coast including a brand new ferry terminal to connect Desaru to Singapore, Batam, and Bintan Islands in Indonesia, the group is poised to take full advantage of the next surge in travel demand to the Desaru area.

Following the success of the Lotus Desaru Beach Resort and Spa, Lotus Group then opened Lotus Seaview Beach Resort in Tanjung Punggai, Pengerang, Johor in 2017. The 188-room Resort caters to the business community, tourists and has also emerged in recent years as a destination wedding venue with its own private beachfront facing the panoramic view of the South China Sea.
